Start the challenge by finding and reading a Bible verse from Acts 1:5.
If you had a message to give to everyone in your family, how would you do it? How long do you think it would take to tell everyone?
What if you wanted to tell everyone in your school or church? How would you do it? How long do you think it would take?
Now imagine that you want to tell everyone in the whole world! Where would you start? How could you make sure everyone heard? What would help you?
The story so far…
After God brought Jesus back to life, his friends and followers saw him several times. He asked them to tell everyone in the world about him and he promised that he would send them the Holy Spirit to help them.
Now read Acts 1:1–11 together.
What happened next…
They went back to Jerusalem and waited, as Jesus had told them to. They often met with Jesus’ mother Mary, his brothers and other followers – praying and waiting together.

Did you know…?
Luke This man was a doctor who joined Paul on his journeys telling people about Jesus. He wrote two books about Jesus and his followers: the “Gospel” or “good news” of Luke and “Acts”, which is about what happened next.
Theophilus Luke wrote both books for “Theophilus”. We cannot be sure who he was but the name means “friend of God”.
Heaven This word can refer simply to the sky and it can refer also to where God is. There’s more about heaven in Challenge 20.

How can we know what God is like? Time to think hard…!
Jesus shows us God because he is God (God the Son). When we see what Jesus said and did when he was on earth, we can see how much God cares about us. We can know that God understands us, whatever we go through. He knows what it’s like to be a human being.
Knowing God the Son shows us what God the Father is like. We can’t see God the Father, but his work is everywhere around us in the world that he made.
When Jesus (God the Son) went back to live in heaven with God the Father, he sent God the Spirit to be with those who want to follow God. We can’t see the Holy Spirit, but if we ask him to be with us always he will help us live the way God wants us to. Unlike Jesus when he lived on earth, the Holy Spirit does not have to be in only one place at any one time. He helps us to talk with God and hear from him. It is the Holy Spirit who makes us want to know God more. Talk with your Bible Coach about this.
Talk to God
Think of three amazing things about God. Why not kneel down with your forehead touching the floor and praise him?
