The new beginning

Here’s what happened when Michael and his dad, Stephen, read this Bible story together.

Michael is 11 and lives in America.

Michael asked: “What does it mean that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega?”

Stephen answered: “Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet; Omega is the last letter. The expression means that God is the beginning and end. He has always been and always will be. He was there at the beginning of creation. And he didn’t just start creation and walk away. He has been in control of creation and watching over it since the beginning and he will still be in control at the end – overseeing the creation of the new heaven and new earth that the Bible passage is talking about.”
